A BTTS prediction means the model expects both the home and away team to score at least one goal each. It wins on any scoreline like 1–1, 2–1, 1–2 or 3–2 — regardless of which team wins or how many total goals are scored.
ScoreSight generates BTTS predictions using a bivariate Poisson model trained on 10+ seasons and 150,000+ matches across 14 European leagues. The model calculates independent scoring rates for each team, calibrated with Dixon-Coles correction for low-scoring bias. Verified BTTS accuracy over the last 60 days: 55.8% from 428 settled matches.
- Check the probability — ScoreSight shows the BTTS probability (e.g. 65%). Compare it to the bookmaker's implied probability (100 / BTTS Yes odds).
- Find positive edge — if the model says 65% but the bookmaker implies 55%, that's a +10% edge — a potential value bet.
- Check form for both teams — a team that rarely scores makes BTTS Yes unlikely regardless of the opponent. Look for both teams scoring in their last 3–5 matches.
- Watch the referee profile — referees who allow aggressive pressing and transitions tend to produce more open matches with higher BTTS rates.
- Consider the context — cup games, relegation battles and derbies often suppress goals. BTTS No can be valuable in these situations.

- What does BTTS Yes mean?
- Both the home and away team must score at least one goal each. A 1–0 or 0–0 result means BTTS No wins. A 1–1 or 2–1 means BTTS Yes wins.
- How is BTTS probability calculated?
- ScoreSight uses bivariate Poisson distribution: BTTS probability = 1 − P(home scores 0) − P(away scores 0) + P(0-0). Each team's scoring rate (λ) is derived from attack/defence ratings, home advantage, recent form and historical data.
- Which leagues are best for BTTS?
- The Bundesliga (Germany) and Premier League (England) historically produce BTTS in around 55–60% of matches — the highest in Europe. The Eredivisie (Netherlands) is also high-scoring. Serie A and Ligue 1 tend to have lower BTTS rates.
- Is BTTS No worth betting?
- Yes — when a strong defensive team plays at home against a weak attack, or when a team has a long clean sheet streak. ScoreSight shows BTTS No predictions when the probability drops below 35%, indicating a clear signal for the defensive market.
- Does BTTS include extra time?
- For regular league matches, BTTS is settled on 90 minutes plus referee-added time. Extra time (in knockout competitions) is usually not included in the BTTS market — check your bookmaker's rules.
